Spring Break is just around the corner, and whether you “sit” at home, “stay” close by or “fetch” a far-away adventure, dogs can take part in the fun! Often a time for fun in the sun or hitting the slopes, Spring Break can be enjoyed in any way your time and budget allow. After the last couple of years dealing with so much stress and uncertainty, any chance to unwind will most certainly be welcome.
For the true couch potato, just ask your dog to scoot over a little, make some popcorn and see how many Oscar-nominated blockbusters you can finish together before falling asleep. After a good nap, some fresh air will do you both good, so head outside to walk a new route around the neighborhood or have a lively game of fetch in the backyard.
When you’re ready to go out on the town, look for local festivals, concerts and events with dog-friendly venues. Other fun ideas include cooking out with friends, tossing a Frisbee at the park, or getting drinks at your favorite local restaurant, as long as it has a dog friendly patio, of course. Bonus points if they keep water bowls fresh and offer treats made just for dogs.
If you’re in the mood to venture out of town, consider the pros and cons of road trips vs. flying during this busy season. Driving is often less expensive, more flexible and easier for bringing pets along. Flying is (usually) faster and gets you to more distant destinations. However, traveling with pets can come with a few roadblocks. You could find yourself trying to keep them quiet in a hotel room, making sure they’re safe while you’re out exploring, or dealing with potential emergencies in an unfamiliar town. Flying with pets is even less relaxing – dealing with baggage rules and safety issues are just the start.
If you have your sights set on a people-only trip this year, scheduling a vacation for your pets here at Wolf Pack Canine may be just the ticket. Our dog boarding and dog daycare guests will enjoy fun-filled days playing with their furry friends and restful nights in their own private accommodations. You will be free to enjoy your adventures knowing that your pets are in good hands.
However, you decide to enjoy the season this Spring Break, we hope your time will leave you renewed, refreshed and reconnected.
